Wix, our review.

In one line: If you have the time and the inclination to build it yourself, Wix is a solid choice, and in terms of price over time, it's one of the most straightforward providers we've encountered.. At renewal, it maintains the same price as the first year, which almost no one does. If, however, someone else has to do the work, Wix doesn't sell that: it sells the tool. Below you'll find what it does well, what takes effort, and the list of what we haven't verified, because we don't pass judgment on that.

First and foremost

This page is written by a competitor.

We sell subscription websites to local businesses. So we have a vested interest in you choosing us, and reading a review written by us without knowing it would be a waste of your time.

The way we've chosen to be useful, however, is this: we do not give a rating to Wix and we do not tell how it is to use it, because we didn't use it. We'll just state what can be verified by reading the official Wix pages and support articles, and whenever data is missing, we'll write that it's missing. If you're looking for a review of the editor, you'll get a better one from someone who has built something with it.

The second thing to put on the table right away: On the Wix subscription, it costs less than us. The annual Light package costs €336.00 net over two years, while ours costs €780.00. There's no way to make that comparison favorable to us, and we're not even going to try. We'll explain what justifies that difference further down, and the choice is yours.

Third: We are Solucom d.o.o., a company based in Ljubljana, and our team speaks Italian. We are not an Italian agency, and there’s no need to pretend we are.

Four things it does well, verified

The biggest merit is on the price over time.

These are claims that you can check for yourself, and the first one is the most important for those who need to be online for years and not just for a season.

As of July 30, 2026, the data source for Wix's pricing page returned catalog price, final price, first purchase price, and renewal price. identical, on all packages and all cycles. No introductory discounts, so no surprises in the second year. For comparison, among the fourteen providers we surveyed, the opposite is the norm: some start at €2.19 per month and renew at €10.99, some go from €17.90 per year to €54.00, some from €9.69 per month to €166.15 per year. On this front, Wix is among the most honest on the market, and that's the most important thing on the entire page.

No minimum duration is stated beyond the billing cycle you choose, with upgrades and downgrades possible at any time. There is no free trial for Premium packages, and this is a limitation, but there is a 14-day money-back guarantee. It's worth knowing because in this market there are providers with a minimum contract of twelve or twenty-four months, and at least one that excludes businesses from the fourteen-day withdrawal.

The Light package goes from €14.00 net per month on an annual plan to €12.50 for two years and €11.00 for three, with the total period prices published. It's not a bait price that then changes; it's a declared discount in exchange for an advance payment. The downside is found in the section below and concerns those who pay month by month.

Italian-language support at no extra charge

The support center is translated into Italian and is complete. The chat is declared active 24/7, there is also a callback phone service and email, and Wix states that no charges will be incurred for phone, chat, or email support. We didn't test it, So we won't say anything about real response times: we'll report what they declare.

The rest of the picture should be added, without enthusiasm: on the same platform, there are an online store, bookings, management for restaurants, CRM, and email marketing, and there's an AI website generator that prepares the first version. There is also a permanent free plan, with a Wix subdomain and Wix ads, useful for seeing what the editor is like before paying. These are declared features, which we read and did not test.

What weighs

What costs effort, the side cost.

None of these are Wix's malpractices: they are all published conditions, or data that Wix does not publish. The problem is that you discover them afterward, when the decision has already been made.

The job is yours, all of it

It's the nature of the product, not a defect: text, photos, assembly, updates. The AI generator creates the first version and it looks good aesthetically, but you're the one who adds the real content, the stuff that says what you do and how much it costs. And the site stays as you left it: if the hours change, you change them. For those who have time, it's an advantage because they know their business better than any supplier. For those who close the shop at eight and have other things to do, it's the reason why many sites remain unfinished for months.

The domain is a voucher, with conditions

It's not a domain included in the plan: it's a voucher for one year, included only with the first purchase of an annual package. It must be redeemed within 60 days and is only valid for a new domain purchased from Wix. It is not issued with monthly billing. If you had already purchased the domain elsewhere, the voucher does not apply and no refund is provided. And to redeem it, you still need to enter your payment details, because the renewal for the second year will be automatically charged.

The mailbox is not in any package

None of the four Premium plans include an address on your domain: Wix resells Google Workspace as a separate service. The price of that service through Wix It is not published on the Italian pages we checked, which return 404. If you are emailing customers from a Gmail address and wanted to stop doing so, this is something to ask for beforehand, not afterwards.

Some numbers are not published.

The domain renewal cost is not published as a figure: support explains that it depends on the extension, currency, years, privacy protection, and local taxes, and directs you to your account panel, meaning you find out after purchasing. The cost of privacy protection, the space and bandwidth for Light, Core, and Business, and the maximum number of pages are also not published. The provider has every right not to publish them; those comparing have the right to know they are missing.

The entry plan does not sell

You cannot accept online payments with Light: according to support. To sell, you need at least Core, which costs €25.00 net per month when paid annually, compared to €14.00 for Light. If you plan to add a store, even a small one, later on, it's worth calculating the costs for Core right away.

One package is valid for one site only.

As stated: Each Premium package is valid for only one site; if you have multiple sites, you’ll need a package for each one. This makes sense, but it’s something to keep in mind if you have two businesses or two brands. And if you pay month-to-month, the Light plan costs €19.00 net per month instead of €14.00, which is 35.7% more, and on top of that, you lose the domain voucher.

The part that is usually not written

A review page that judges everything is bluffing about something. This is the complete list of what we don't review, and why.

Not tried, or not found

· The editor and its ease of use: We haven't created an account or built a site, so we don't judge it.
· The quality of the templates: same reason: we didn't use them.
· The speed of sites published with Wix: No measurements made by us.
· Real-time support response times: The chat is stated to be 24/7, but we haven't put it to the test. We couldn't find the exact Italian support hours: the page that should contain them returns a 404 error.
· How easy is it to move the site elsewhere: unverified. It is the question we would ask before signing, and the answer must be asked of them.
· The public review scores: we aren't citing any of them: Trustpilot returned a 403 to every attempt, so we didn't collect any data.
· The total that appears on the register: no completed carts: reaching the checkout requires an account.
· Storage, bandwidth, and maximum number of pages: unpublished for Light, Core and Business. The only stated limits are the 100 GB and 10 collaborators of the Business Elite.
· The domain renewal cost: not published as a figure by Wix.
· The price of the mailbox via Wix: not published on the Italian pages, which return a 404 error.
· The cost of marketplace professionals: unpublished: the individual professionals provide the estimates.

You will not find a score on this page. We could have written an average star rating taken from a review site: we tried to collect them and Trustpilot responded with 403 to every attempt, so we don't have any data in hand. Citing a score read second-hand, or reported by another article, would have been more convenient and less true.

One final technical note regarding prices: the data was collected via a connection located in Slovenia, using the euro as the currency and a VAT rate of 22%, as in Italy, but Wix differentiates price lists by geographic area. Before deciding, double-check the figures from an Italian connection. If you see numbers different from ours, write to us: we will correct the page and update the date.

The question that counts

It's not whether Wix is good, but if it is good for you.

Almost all disappointing reviews stem from a finished product ending up in the wrong hands. These are the two lists—the most honest ones we can write from our perspective.

Buy Wix if

→ You have a few free evenings and are curious about learning a new instrument. This is when doing it yourself pays off—and not just in terms of price.
→ You want to be able to change a photo or a price yourself, immediately, without writing to anyone.
→ You need more than just a showcase website: selling online, taking bookings, managing a customer list. These are things that Wix does on the same platform, keeping in mind that at least the Core plan is required for payments.
→ Do you want to know today how much you'll be paying in two years—at least for the subscription fee? In this regard, Wix is more predictable than the market average.
→ You don't want to commit to a minimum duration, and you want to be able to switch to a larger or smaller plan whenever you need to.
→ You can try it at zero cost before paying: the free plan exists, with a subdomain and Wix ads.

Look elsewhere if

· You already know you won't touch it. The worst-case scenario isn't spending too much: it's paying a subscription for a half-finished website.
· You need a mailbox on your domain included in the price. On Wix it's a separate service, and the price is not published in Italian.
· You want to know the exact total for the next two years in advance. The subscription fee yes, the domain renewal no: that figure is not published.
· You are looking for the absolute minimum spend. The cheapest way we found in Italy is Aruba, at around €72 for two years, domain and five mailboxes included.
· You have two businesses or two brands: each Premium package covers a single site.
· You want to try a paid plan before buying it: there is no free trial on Premium, only a 14-day refund.

On one line we are identical, and it's no coincidence: We don't offer a discounted first year either just to take it back later. On all the others, the difference is the same, which is who does the work. We cost more than double on the subscription, and that difference doesn't buy a prettier website: it buys the fact that you don't have to think about it.

What rating do you give Wix?

Nobody, and the reason is that a rating requires having used the product. We haven't created an account, we haven't built a site with the editor, and we haven't measured the speed of a Wix site, so a score from us would be made up. We don't even cite averages from review sites: we tried to collect them and Trustpilot returned a 403, so we have no data. What we can say is verifiable and concerns prices, conditions, and what is included.

Is Wix reliable regarding pricing?

On the package fee yes, and that is its greatest merit. As of the July 30, 2026 survey, the entry price and renewal price were identical across all packages and billing cycles, which almost no competitor does. Two things are left out: domain renewal, which is not published as a figure, and the mailbox, which is not included in any package and whose price is not published in Italian.

Is Wix good for a local business?

It depends on one thing only: whether you'll actually make the website. With a shop or a studio that closes late, the hard part isn't the editor, it's finding the evening to write the text and choose the photos, and then remembering to update the hours at Christmas. If you feel up for it, the Light package at €14.00 net per month paid annually is a reasonable and sensible expense. If you already know you won't do it, no platform will solve the problem.

Is the Wix free plan enough for a business?

To try out the editor yes, to be online with your business name no. The free plan works with a Wix subdomain and shows Wix ads, and to connect your own domain you need a Premium package: Wix support states this explicitly. On a site that needs to inspire trust in a customer, someone else's address and advertising stand out.

If one day I want to leave, can I take the website with me?

We haven't verified it., so we don't give you an answer that we cannot prove. However, it is the right question to ask any supplier before signing, along with these two: how much does renewal cost, and how do you cancel. Regarding the domain, the point to ask is who it is registered to: if it is registered to you, when you switch you take it with you.

Why should I believe a review written by a competitor?

You don't have to believe it: you can check it. Every single number on this page and of our Wix pricing page it comes from Wix's official Italian pages or its help articles, with the collection date clearly stated, and where the data is missing, it says it's missing. If you find a different number, write to us and we'll correct it. And if after reading everything you are convinced by Wix, you've made an informed choice: that's more than you get from most comparison pages out there.

How we did this evaluation.

→ Survey date: July 30, 2026. Price lists and terms are subject to change, so the date is part of the information: without a date, a comparison page becomes inaccurate on its own.
→ The sources are the Italian Wix pricing page and the official Italian help articles. No blogs, no affiliate sites, no third-party reviews.
→ The pricing page loads the price list via JavaScript, so the prices were retrieved from the public endpoint that the page itself queries: its data source, which also displays the renewal price and the amount including VAT at 22%.
→ Geolocation warning: The data was collected from a connection located in Slovenia, with the country specified on the Wix page itself, the currency listed as the euro, and VAT set at 22%, as in Italy. Wix sets different prices by geographic region, so the figures must be verified via an Italian connection.
