We don't have a rating to give you and you won't find one below. We did something more boring and more useful: we read IONOS's Italian pricing pages and their general terms and conditions, line by line, and wrote down what they say. The result is that The product is inexpensive and they do some things better than almost everyone else, but the pricing structure is hard to read: for the same plan there are three different numbers, and the minimum contract duration is not published anywhere. We are a competing provider, so we'll be upfront about it, and at the end you will also find who IONOS is the right choice for.
Three pros and two cons, all verifiable on their pages. If you have two minutes and not ten, these are enough for you.
The Standard plan includes one mailbox on your domain, and Ultimate includes five, with no stated time limit. It sounds like a minor detail, but it isn't: in our research, other providers include it only for the first year, one doesn't offer it at all, and on an entry-level plan, an external mailbox costs up to $8.40 per month. If you write to clients from your own domain address, this point concerns you.
Ten euros a year at full price, VAT excluded. In the figures we gathered, July 30th is the lowest: Aruba is at €11.99, GoDaddy at €13.11, another provider prices it at €24, and two do not publish the domain renewal price at all. IONOS gives it for €1 the first year, but the renewal is the number that counts.
The page says "Only with IONOS included: Your personal consultant," with a dedicated page. It doesn't build the site for you, so let's not mistake it for a service: it's guidance. But for those starting from scratch and not knowing who to ask their first question to, it's real value, and in this price range, it's rare.
On the Standard plan, the prices are €3, €5, and €6 per month. At the time of purchase, the customer sees one of them; the other two will be paid later. And the page does not clarify which of the two applies upon contract renewal.
The minimum duration is not indicated on the pricing page. The FAQ on the same page implies that a minimum duration exists, without ever quantifying it. Renewal is tacit and cancellation requires four weeks' notice. It is the weakest point we found, and we do not like it: let's write that there isn't one.
One thing you won't find on this page: a review score.During the survey on July 30, 2026, the review portal we would have liked to consult responded with an error on every attempt, so that data does not exist for us and we do not report it second-hand. Everything you read here instead comes from IONOS's public pages, which anyone can reopen and check.
Prices excluding VAT: Under each table on ionos.it, it says, "All prices do not include 22% VAT." The column that matters is the third one, not the first.

The best-selling plan in this category is the Standard plan, which serves as an example. The large number on the page is 3 € per month. That price is worth it six months. Starting in the seventh month, the price shown in plain text is 5 €. Next to it, crossed out, is a third number: 6 €. None of the three numbers is hidden, and none is false: the problem is that there are three of them, and to figure out how much you'll spend, you have to keep them all in mind.
There is also an ambiguity that we prefer to point out rather than resolve on our own: The page does not specify which of the two numbers—5 or 6—applies to the renewal of the contract. In the two-year account below, we used the "Then" price, which is the clearly written one, being the most favorable assumption for IONOS. We have included the variant calculated on the crossed-out price alongside it, so you can see both.
A note on the percentages, for those keeping track of the numbers. The labels on the page ("33% discount" on Standard, "36%" on Premium, "38%" on Ultimate) are correct when calculated as savings over the first twelve months compared to the strikethrough price, not as the difference between the promotional price and the strikethrough price. On Plus, the label is "€120 discount," which corresponds to €10 per twelve months. They are consistent, but should be read carefully.
If hosting is the confusing part of the price list, this is the clear part—and that’s worth noting. Prices exclude VAT, as of July 30, 2026, on ionos.it/website/create-website.

On MyWebsite No "Poi" line appears": After the promotion, you pay the strikethrough price, and the percentages confirm this down to the cent, because 6 out of 11 equals exactly the stated 45%, and 18 out of 30 equals 40%. So €11, €18, and €30 per month (excluding VAT) are the full prices, and you can do the math yourself before buying without having to ask anyone.
On the Plus plan, there is also a condition that must be acknowledged, quoted verbatim: "no commitment: with the Plus offer you can cancel for free during the 1st year, whenever you want." It is the opposite of the gray area regarding the minimum hosting duration, and on the same page, which makes the absence of the hosting data even stranger.
It is neither an accusation nor a deduction: it is a fact that is missing from the public pages. We write it this way because "unpublished" is in turn useful information for those who must decide.
On the hosting pricing page the minimum contract duration is not indicated. The FAQ on the same page literally says: "If you want a contract without a minimum duration, you can opt for hosting rates with a 1-month notice period for cancellation." From that sentence, it is clear that the promotional rates shown Hanno a minimum duration, but how long it is isn't written, and it doesn't even say how much the rates without a minimum duration cost, which the FAQ refers to.
The general conditions for Italy deal with renewal as follows: if the contract is for a fixed term or a minimum duration has been agreed, it is extended for the agreed period or for the minimum duration, in any case for a period not exceeding one year, if notice of termination is not given with a notice period of four weeks. So: tacit renewal, four-week notice period, and the minimum duration remains a variable that the customer discovers after signing the contract.
How much does it really weigh? It depends on you. If you keep the site for years, little or nothing. If you are just trying it out, it is the difference between closing whenever you want and paying until a deadline you didn't know about. In any case, it is the first question to ask in writing before buying, and the answer must be kept.
For balance, the same page states 30-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee, present on both hosting and email. These are two facts and they should be placed next to the point above: in the first month there is an expense, and it is stated.
These are the two factors that made the biggest difference between one provider and another in our survey, and IONOS ranks among the best in both.

In the hosting and MyWebsite plans, the domain is described as free for one year. From the second year you pay the full price, and €10 a year for a .it is the lowest price we have found July 30, 2026. All net.
Included permanently in the hosting plans: one mailbox on Standard, five on Ultimate, with no stated time limit. This is the most concrete difference compared to providers that include it only for the first twelve months.
If you want it by itself, without hosting, the email pricing starts from 1.50 € per month for a 2 GB mailbox with domain included, stated as "cancelable monthly". Above that are €6 per month for the 50 GB mailbox and €8 per month for the Microsoft 365 Basic plan. Net prices.
Assistance stated on product pages: number 800 829 691, with the phrase "24/7 Support in Italian," plus chat and email. Stated availability of 99.99%.
Two years and not one, because a comparison based on the first year alone means nothing: it's the period when all suppliers offer discounts. Scenario: a showcase website for a local business, custom domain, one mailbox on the domain.

Looked at this way, the difference is huge and to our disadvantage: 118 € versus 780 €.There is no honest way to make it look small, and we are not trying to. But the two lines do not buy the same thing, and the item missing from the IONOS price list is not a feature: it is the work.
On the Italian IONOS website a service that builds the website for you doesn't exist. We looked for it: their sitemap contains 424 addresses and there isn't a single one dedicated to custom website development. The personal consultant is guidance, not production. So the real comparison isn't €118 versus €780: it is 118 € plus your hours against 780 € including labor.
Only you know how much your hours are worth, and for many the right answer is that they are worth less than the difference between the two lines. If that's you, you've finished reading and the choice is IONOS: we have nothing to add. These are four cases, and they are true. If you recognize yourself in one, you don't need us and this page has done its job anyway.
MyWebsite has an editor, templates, and AI generation, and the full prices are clearly stated: 11, 18, or 30 € net per month depending on the plan. With the Standard hosting, it comes to 118 € net for two years. No service that includes labor, including ours, comes close to those figures, and anyone who wants to learn does well to start there.
The mailbox is included in the hosting plan and stays there, with no stated expiration date. If your main problem is stopping writing to customers from a generic address, this is the cheapest way we found: starting at €1.50 per month even without hosting.
The included personal consultant and the stated 24/7 telephone support in Italian, at the number 800 829 691, matter much more than it seems when it is your first time. Knowing that there is a number and an assigned person changes the feeling of being alone in front of a control panel.
Thirty days of free trial and a thirty-day money-back guarantee are stated on the page. And on the MyWebsite Plus plan, it says that during the first year you can cancel for free whenever you want. If your doubt is "what if I don't use it afterwards," you can afford the first month.
It depends on which number you look at, and that is precisely the problem. On the Standard hosting plan, detected on July 30, 2026, there are three numbers: €3 a month for the first six months, €5 a month after that, and a crossed-out €6 a month next to it. Over two years, also counting the domain at €10 starting from the second year, it comes out to €118.00 net, that is, €143.96 including VAT at 22%. If the strikethrough price were applied at renewal instead of the price shown in plain text, it would be €136.00 net. All IONOS prices are listed excluding VAT — this is noted below each table.
It is not published. On the hosting pricing page, the minimum duration does not appear, and the FAQ on the same page implies that a minimum duration exists for promotional rates, referring to different rates "without a minimum duration" whose price is not shown. The general terms and conditions for Italy state that renewal is tacit and that cancellation must be communicated with four weeks' notice. We do not estimate the missing data: it must be requested in writing before buying, and the reply must be saved.
For one year, on hosting plans and MyWebsite, where it is indicated as a "free domain for one year." From the second year, the full price is paid: €10 per year for a .it, €15 for a .com, net. It is the lowest renewal price we found among the compared providers, and the first year purchased alone costs €1 for .it and .com.
No, and it doesn't state that. You build the website yourself with MyWebsite, using templates or AI-assisted generation. The included "personal consultant" is support and guidance, which is a good thing but different: you still have to add the pages, texts, and photos. A custom development service on commission is not available on the Italian site: in their map, which contains 424 addresses, there is no trace of it.
The difference is not the price, it's who does the work. With IONOS you buy the space, the tools, and the support, and you build the website yourself: 118 € net for two years. With us, the website is already done when you see it for the first time, we write the texts, and the data that changes over time, like opening hours and reviews, updates every month without you doing anything: 780 € net for two years with the launch promo, 870 € standard price.
