The price you see is €2.19 per month. The price you will pay from the second year is €10.99 per month, which is five times as much., and the security certificate goes from free to €99.99 per year. This is not a discovery and it is not hidden: it is written in their cart and inside the question marks next to the items. The problem is that almost no one opens them, so we opened them and are reporting here what was inside, word for word. On the cost of infrastructure GoDaddy costs less than us and this page says so: what in their Italian price list does not exist is the phrase "we build the website ourselves".

All amounts are net of VAT, as this is how GoDaddy presents them. Each plan is shown with the "For the 1st year" formula: the crossed-out price next to it is not a fancy discount; it's the rate the service returns to after twelve months. The column that matters is the third one.

In the pricing page markup, there is also this sentence, which applies to the entire price list: "The special launch price is only valid for the initial purchase period. The product renewal price may change."

The renewal column is something we found in the checkout, and it’s the reason why it’s worth going through with the purchase. On the plans page, the renewal price for the Website Builder doesn’t appear: there’s only €7.49/month labeled "SAVE 53% WITH THE ANNUAL PLAN." When we added the Basic plan to the cart on July 30, 2026, the line item read ""€89.88, €155.88, 42% discount"" and under "Renews on July 2027 for €155.88". Three figures for the same offer, three different percentages: 53% on the page, 42% at the register, and 37.5% if you compare the €7.49 annual rate with the €11.99 monthly rate.

The longer the commitment, the higher the rent.

We put Web Hosting Economy in the cart and only changed the duration, without touching anything else. GoDaddy's cart allows you to choose between 1, 3, 6, 12, 24, 36, 60, and 120 months, and the price per month changes. Not in the way you'd expect.

Read the third column from top to bottom: 2,19 €, 4,99 €, 5,79 €. Committing for three years instead of one, on the exact same terms, costs 164 percent more per month. It's the opposite of what happens almost everywhere, where a long commitment is the way to pay less, and it's why it's worth opening the cart before choosing a duration out of habit.

However, there is also one thing that GoDaddy does better than many others, and it must be said right away because it is true: The renewal line is written under each product, with the date and the amount. Not in a note, not in an attached document: under the product name, at checkout. In our survey, more than one supplier, when asked the cost of the second year, referred to another page or didn't say at all.

How much does it really cost a website on GoDaddy.

Two honest warnings about this bill. The second year's mailbox line uses the first year's price, Why is the email renewal not published?That line is therefore a lower-end approximation, and we are writing it down instead of hiding it. The SSL line depends on what happens to the trial certificate: if you let it renew it's €99.99 per year, if you disable it and use cPanel's AutoSSL it's zero. The cart, on July 30, 2026, also offered a "Standard Web Security" package for €5.99 per month versus €10.99 and a "Managed SSL" service for €72.00 one-time: these are optional additions and we have not included them in the bill.

On the price of infrastructure, we lose, and by a lot. If the two columns bought the same thing, the choice would already be made and it wouldn't be ours. Read the table from left to right: the first column is where GoDaddy wins, the others tell a different story.

Our €780 over twenty-four months is net and includes the launch promo, which waives the €90 setup fee on the annual plan. At full list price, two years would cost €870. Alternatively, €39 per month plus a €90 activation fee. GoDaddy also displays net prices, so the two columns are on the same basis and comparable.

There's a detail worth mentioning, because it's verifiable in thirty seconds and says a lot about what GoDaddy really sells in Italy. The "we'll build the website" service isn't on the Italian website. The page that should host it, /en-us/websites/web-design, responds 404 to July 30, 2026, and is still linked from the website index. There are no other pages of that type in the Italian sitemap. There's "GoDaddy Consultant," which is phone and chat support, and "GoDaddy Pro," which is a program for agencies and developers: neither builds the site for you.

This isn't a criticism: GoDaddy sells hosting, domains, and tools, and it's one of the world's largest providers of these services. It’s a difference in category, and it helps you understand which of the two options you need. If you buy Economy, you write and build the site yourself—today and every time something changes. The AI-powered website builder makes the initial setup faster, not the subsequent updates.

So the right question isn't "which costs less," because you already know the answer. It's: What time is it and you want to spend it like this? If so, the page ends here and ends well. For those managing ten, or for those who want a provider that will almost certainly still be around in ten years, size is not a marketing argument: it's a real operational convenience and a guarantee of continuity.

On the .it page, the full price is listed next to the promotional price: €13.11 upon renewal, €8.19 the first year. It's a good price for a .it, and it's published upfront, renewal included. In our survey, more than one provider, when asked "how much does it cost to renew the domain," only replied "at the normal price," without numbers.

GoDaddy is clearer about this than several competitors, including some that only put the renewal in a tooltip or on another page. You can calculate the second year before entering your card details, which is not at all a given in this market.

The thirty-day money-back guarantee is indicated on all website hosting plans. For email, it's seven days and only applies to annual purchases. It's a difference to keep in mind, but the window is generous for the main product. There is also a 99.9 percent uptime goal with credit in case of failure to meet it.

If you want to be able to call someone

The phone number exists, it's a toll-free number, and it's published on the Italian contact page, along with chat, email, and SMS. This clarification is important because it's written there and changes things for some people: next to the number, the Italian page includes the wording "24/7", and the hours for phone support in Italian are not indicated. The website, cart, and documentation are in Italian, however.

A straightforward summary: if you have the time for it, and you're okay with keeping an eye on the renewal date, GoDaddy is a solid choice, and this page has helped you choose them. It's a good fit. We prefer a reader who buys well elsewhere to a customer who, after three months, realizes they bought something they didn't need.

The other side, which doesn't concern GoDaddy but you

When one hundred ninety-four euros become expensive.

There is only one case in which that low figure becomes the worst expense, and it doesn't depend on the product: it depends on how much time you actually have. The worst-case scenario isn't overspending; it's paying a subscription for a website that never went live. The plan bought in March, the afternoon when colors are chosen, and then the real work that restarts. In September, the domain is yours, the subscription is active, and the page is still the trial one. In July of the following year, the renewal at full price arrives.

It's not laziness, and it's not inability. An aesthetician closing at 8 PM, a plumber returning at 7 PM with quotes to prepare, a nutritionist with an office to manage: those evenings aren't available, and a website builder, even with AI guidance, still requires attention and decisions. The real cost in that case isn't €193.95: it's €193.95 plus the clients who, during those months, looked for a business like yours and found another.

If you recognize yourself in this second description, the question changes: not "how much does the site cost," but How much does it cost not to have it?. It's the only ground on which our price makes sense, and we won't try to move the comparison elsewhere.

How much does a website with GoDaddy really cost?

With Web Hosting Economy, price list checked on July 30, 2026 and confirmed at checkout the same day: 2.19 € per month for the first year, which is 26.28 €, and 10.99 € per month upon renewal, which is 131.88 €, all net. Adding the renewal of the .it domain for €13.11 and an email account, the twenty-four months make 193.95 € net, which becomes €293.94 if you let the SSL certificate renew at €99.99 per year. With 22 percent VAT: €236.62 and €358.61. GoDaddy shows all prices excluding VAT.

Is it true that SSL costs €99.99 per year?

On the Economy plan, yes, if you let it renew. The text is theirs, from the question mark next to the item and repeated in the cart: "The free trial period expires 1 year after purchase. It renews automatically at a price of €99.99/year." It must be said, however, that there is another side to the story: in the WordPress Basic framework, the certificate is declared "free with no renewal fees", and on Deluxe and Ultimate there's cPanel's AutoSSL, free and automatically renewed. So it's not true that GoDaddy charges for SSL everywhere: it's true on the entry-level plan, and it can be disabled from the account.

Is it worth paying three years in advance?

On the same Economy plan, no, and it's counterintuitive. Checked at checkout on July 30, 2026, by just changing the duration: twelve months cost €26.28, which is €2.19 per month; twenty-four months cost €119.76, which is €4.99 per month; thirty-six months cost €208.44, which is €5.79 per month. The longer the commitment, the higher the monthly fee. The advantage of a long commitment is that you lock in the price for longer before renewing at €10.99 per month, not that you pay less per month.

Will GoDaddy build the website for me?

On the Italian site, no. It gives you the Website Builder and the Airo generator, which are tools with which you create it yourself. The site creation service page, /en-us/websites/web-design,responds with a 404 on July 30, 2026, even though it's still linked from the index, and there are no others in the Italian sitemap. "GoDaddy Consultant" is support, "GoDaddy Pro" is a program for agencies: neither writes your copy or uploads your photos.

How much does the domain cost, and how much does the email cost?

The .it domain costs €8.19 for the first year and €13.11 at renewal, with the two digits written next to each other. The .com domain costs €0.01 but requires a three-year purchase, and then €21.99 per year. With hosting plans, the domain is included for the first year. For email, the answer is less clear-cut: in the cart, the item is "Microsoft 365 Email Essentials, free trial," two free mailboxes for twelve months, and at list price, Email Essentials costs €1.89 per mailbox per month "for the first year.". The renewal price for mail is not published, neither on the website nor at checkout, so we don't factor it in: in our accounting, we used the first-year price and stated that.

Is GoDaddy or a subscription service like yours more convenient?

On price, GoDaddy, no question: €193.95 versus €780 over two years, both net. There's no calculation that overturns that ratio, and anyone who tries to convince you otherwise is selling you something. The difference is what you buy. With GoDaddy, you buy the space, the domain, and the tools, and you build the site yourself. With us, the site is already built when you first see it, we write the texts starting from your public content, and the data that changes, like hours and reviews, updates itself every month. Are you biased in this comparison?

Yes, we sell a service that partially competes with theirs. That's why the page is written this way: we state that on infrastructure they cost less than us, we acknowledge that they book renewals better than many competitors, we specify that the €99.99 for SSL isn't valid on all plans, and the comparison is over twenty-four months, not the first year, which is how these figures are manipulated. Every figure comes from their pages or their shopping cart, with the date: you can reopen them and check. Where data isn't published, we state that instead of estimating it to our advantage.

→ We have opened all the question marks. beside the items stated as free or included, and that's where the two figures that matter were: the €99.99 for the SSL and the fact that the mailboxes are a trial that renews "at the current price". The text shown on the page is what came out, without summaries.
